St. Paul - With a Missionary Spirit
As we bring the Year of St. Paul to a close we remember our sister parish of St. Paul’s Cathedral in Homa Bay. They recently sent a message telling us that they are praying for us.  Our Sister Parish Committee has been working on building our relationship with them, and I really appreciate the work they have been doing. The following is an update from our committee:  Inserted in this bulletin are two letters, the first letter was hand delivered by Fr. Mark from our five parishes to the people of St. Paul’s Cathedral when he traveled to Homa Bay during Lent. As soon as they received the letter they immediately formed a partnership committee and sent a letter, with Fr.Mark, back to us, which is the second letter.  We are not yet sure how this process with transpire, but there will be various events and activities along the way. One example would be the Mass, social, and photo presentation held in April after Fr. Mark returned from Homa Bay. We are looking to put together a large pool of people willing to help witht hese types of activities. Please consider calling one of the following people and we’ll gladly put your name on the list.  Also, if you have any special skills, or ideas, that may come in handy, please let us know. With a little help from a lot of people we can do our small part to make this world a better place!

I want to say a huge thank you to this committee that is working very hard at laying the ground work for this mission.  We should always remember mission sister parishes are multi-directional, meaning they involve both giving and receiving. Both parishes should understand and support each othert hrough prayer, visitation, communication, and gift sharing.  All churches are both “sending” and receiving churches. Both are called to be missionary and everyone has God-given gifts to share. (Mission Office).
The U.S. Bishops wrote:...By missionary activity, the mystical body grows to the full mature measure of the fullness of Christ (Ad Gentes, #8-9)  May we grow as five parishes to become more like Christ in our missionary spirit.
